This beautiful, cream lace and pearl choker is upcycled from some hand-tatted trim I found in an old-school millinery trim shop in NYC back in the early 90s. I've handstitched freshwater pearls to each of the star-like points around its scalloped edge and framed them with tiny gold glass beads. The shop carried all sorts of vintage and antique trimmings. I spent hours browsing it. I am unsure however of just how old the lace is, but the imperfections that come with handmade beauty, attest to it being a sweet relic of our female history. I'd love to see it on a bride who has decided to wear her mother's or grandmother's wedding dress on her special day.
